Our Intent
Here at District of Bog Community Development Organization New York Chapter, INC, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2021, we are determined to make an impact in our community of Bog and neighboring communities in Westmoreland. This includes communities of Bog, New Works, Bronte, Beeston Spring, Lenox Bigwoods and Carmel. Currently there are no libraries in some of these communities, no internet access, no focal point where young people and adults can go to socialize, educate and be entertained that is fully equipped to host such activities. Growing up in the community of Bog, Westmoreland, Jamaica, we had the community center where we could go to play sports, have parties, socialize with our friends. The community center have deteriorate over the years, leaving young people and adults with nothing much to do. We are committed to revitalize the community, both in providing entertainment, training and employment. The District of Bog Organization is compromise of members from USA, Canada and Jamaica of which all its members have grown up in one of these communities or in Jamaica. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas and passion to the range of activities we’re involved in. We believe in pride in our communities and the belief that if you have been blessed to help someone to make a difference in their lives, please do. By doing so we create a better community and a better country. Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs. Currently we are raising funds to buy tablets and collecting tablets to hand out to students for September 2021 school term.
